So, earlier this year, the Lagos Chapter of NIPR and the Committee responsible for organising the Lagos PR Week 2019 led by Odion Aleobua accepted my request to volunteer for the event.

Now, you may have read about my LinkedIn strategy in 2011 about connecting with senior public relations professionals. Well, I had the same strategy for Instagram and Twitter too.

That is how I found Bidemi Zakariyau Akande and JJ. Omojuwa. A couple of years back, I started following Motola Oyebanjo on LinkedIn.

While I have met two of them a couple of times, it was mostly as a part of the crowd, listening to them dish out information that if applied will transform one’s mindset and life.

Today, I will not be a part of the crowd.

As a volunteer for the Lagos PR Week 2019, you can bet I will be strategically positioned to engage these people I respect tremendously.

Sometimes, when you have tried all you know to do to connect and engage with someone, try to give value instead. Volunteer at an event they will be at.

Like I did.

This is my special invitation to YOU to join us as we commence the week long celebration of Public Relations practice in Nigeria.

Do say ‘hello’ when you come in. Looking forward to receiving you!
