Leveraging Trends. Managing<br \/>\nComplex Teams. The global virtual event, designed for senior professionals with at least<br \/>\n15 years\u2019 experience, will hold on July 28 &#8211; 29 from 11am &#8211; 1pm WAT.<br \/>\nSpeaking ahead of the event, keynote speaker Elo\u00efne Barry, Founder &amp; CEO of African<br \/>\nMedia Agency (AMA), an award-winning Abidjan-based media company said \u201cPR is a<br \/>\nWomen-led industry, today more than ever this industry plays an integral role in the life of<br \/>\ncompanies, institutions, international organizations and governments. It is crucial that we<br \/>\nbuild a community where we can share, engage and challenge ourselves to grow. I am<br \/>\ndelighted to see the Nigerian Women in Public Relations being part of building this<br \/>\ncommunity, shifting and creating platforms. When women come together, we create<br \/>\nmagic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Nigerian Women in PR has historically delivered innovative events for practitioners and<br \/>\nthe general public. In March, the organisation hosted its inaugural annual conference<br \/>\nwith the theme: Experiencing PR. During the two-hour event, which included a six-person<br \/>\npanel session made up of captains of industry and heads of PR in various organisations,<br \/>\nNigerian Women in PR also launched its first book titled Experiencing Public Relations &#8211; a<br \/>\ncollection of 12 articles on public relations written by Nigerian female PR professionals<br \/>\npractising across the world. The organisation also formally opened up its membership<br \/>\nplatform, which is opened for young, middle level and senior Nigerian female public<br \/>\nrelations professionals.<\/p>\n<p>Global Public Relations Consultant and Founder of Nigerian Women in PR, Tolulope<br \/>\nOlorundero said: \u201cwe understand that as public relations professionals, there must be a<br \/>\nconscious effort to upskill and retool ourselves to ensure that we are on track with global<br \/>\ntrends and standards. For senior public relations and communications women who have<br \/>\nover 15 years\u2019 experience, this first edition of our Reserve Mentorship Workshop will be an<br \/>\nintensive retooling program where young professionals will lead the sessions on building<br \/>\nvisibility, leveraging trends and managing complex communication teams.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Reverse Mentorship Workshop is arguably the first of its kind for public relations<br \/>\nprofessionals across the world. It is an exclusive upskilling workshop for senior female<br \/>\nPublic Relations and Communications professionals with at least 15 years\u2019 experience.<br \/>\nThe Workshop is aimed at helping target participants build leadership visibility,<br \/>\nunderstand and leverage new trends in Public Relations while learning how to manage<br \/>\nincreasingly complex and global teams. While speaking to journalists about the Workshop<br \/>\nconcept, Olorundero said \u201cwe also aim to provide a closed networking forum for the<br \/>\nsenior professionals to interact with our carefully researched global faculty. The Workshop<br \/>\nwill feature case study sessions facilitated by heads of organisations who have delivered<br \/>\nresults using the trends and principles that will be taught.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Event faculty Enitan Kehinde, Lead Consultant, BHM will lead the session on<br \/>\n\u2018Understanding and Leveraging Trends\u2019 while Jennifer Ogunleye, Google B2B<br \/>\nCommunications, UK and Ireland will lead the session on \u2018Business Communications<br \/>\nStrategies for Complex Organisations\u2019.<br \/>\nCarol Kaemmerer, the faculty who will lead the session on \u2018Building Brands and<br \/>\nLeadership Visibility\u2019 will teach participants using her experience after her 20-year stint as<br \/>\na marketing communications consultant to a Fortune 500 company ended<br \/>\nunexpectedly. Now an internationally recognised executive branding expert,<br \/>\nprofessional speaker and author of the award-winning book LinkedIn for the Savvy<br \/>\nExecutive, Carol will share some of the career lessons she learned the hard way. \u201cWhile<br \/>\nyou are busy minding the brand of your company, remember to mind your own\u201d, says<br \/>\nKaemmerer.<\/p>\n<p>Participants at the Reverse Mentorship Workshop are expected to include senior Nigerian<br \/>\npublic relations and communications professionals practising locally and internationally<br \/>\nin the banking, investment, FMCG, insurance, healthcare, tech, oil &amp; gas, energy,<br \/>\nconsulting and real estate sectors.<br \/>\nCase study Faculty, Philippa Dods, is the Head of Marketing for the African region at<br \/>\nMeltwater, the global leader in media intelligence and social analytics.
